Aimed at providing basic health care and first aid services to street children under 18 years old and orienting children on health and sanitation, the Camp provided services to more than 250 children of that area. The children were given medicine and basic first aid care and the parents were oriented on how to keep children safe from health hazards- said Motilal Rai, Team Leader of the camp. He adds that such camps are very important and CWCN has been running Mobile Health Services for Street Children every week in different Kawads, street corners and slum areas. CWCN has been organizing such camps for street children as well as children of slum areas in Kathmandu and has planned to organize two more health camps by the end of 2005. Mainly children had problems of skin, respiratory problems, diarrhea, ear and eyes infection and all were caused by the carelessness in maintaining cleanliness and unsafe drinking water. The Camp was started at 10 and continued up to 4pm in the premise of BAL KALYAN Primary School where only children from squatter area study.
