Sustainability

There are 2.6 million children who work as child laborer. Among them, more than 5 thousand children are toiling on the street in many cities of Nepal, mainly in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dharan, Biratnagar and Butwal. These street children pass their days collecting scraps and plastics thrown away by people and nights on the footpaths.

CWCN is going to expand its working area with street children from Kathmandu to other major cities of Nepal. We need funds to carry out these activities and always depending on donors for financial assistance is not an easy solution. Instead, we support some of our projects through different income generating activities such as gardening and Youth Opportunity Production House. Total profit obtained from these social business activities are used for the benefits of street children.

Watabaran Garden Service Center

A Garden was started in the year 2003 as an income generating project and training center for street youths. The center provides gardening training and job to street youths and generates income by selling plants and flowers. Now three ex-street youths are working in the garden.

Youth Opportunity Production House

Former street and socially challenged youths are trained and given an opportunity to work in the production house. The production house generates income by selling shirts, T-shirts and other products to local and international markets.

Green Vehicles

CWCN is running two electric vehicles in Kathmandu. The three-wheelers electric vehicle is driven by Former Student of CWCN. CWCN generates around 30 thousand nepali rupees per month as profit. We continuously adding up more such vehicles for more employability and income generation.
